This is a plant pot with the vase portion and the tray thrown integrally...the vase and tray are one piece. There are two drain holes connecting the vase with the tray.

It's 4-1/2"H x 6-1/ 2"dia.

A speckled stonware clay was used on the wheel. The glaze is called Mehta light blue. The planter was immersed in the glaze , dried and fired to stoneware temperature.

Stoneware is stronger than earthenware glaze, which is the usual type of clays used for planters. It can be used outside but, as with earthenware planters, they must be taken inside in the winter, with their plants, to keep them from freezing.

The planter weighs 2lbs-4oz without packing.
