The teapot is made of a buff, speckled stoneware clay. The teapot is colored with my caramel gloss glaze, inside and out and the cover is glazed with a deep brown tenmoku glaze.  The teapot is not meant for stovetop use but for brewing and serving tea or coffee.  I use one of my teapots to brew coffee with a brewing bowl and filter. However the teapot works well in the microwave. 5 minites with a full pot in the microwave makes 7 small cups  or 6 larger cups. The teapot measures 11 in across the handles and spout x 7 in dia, x 6 in height and weighs 3 lbs 13 oz without packaging. The teapot is fairly large. If it is tipped to get the last drop, hold or remove the cover.
