The jar can be used for storage or decoration. This jar holds about 1 pint. I found this type of jar is good for use in the refrigerator. I use them for storing coffee. Good for sugar too.The knob is depressed so it doesn't catch on anything as its is taken out or put in the refrigerator. It has handles for easy grabbing.

It's made of buff speckled stoneware, clear glaze over green, orange yellow and brown underglaze on the pot and the cover. The jar is 4-1/4" in diameter, 4-1/4" high and weighs 1lb-2 oz. without packing. It holds 1 pint or 2 cups to the bottom of the cover.
