The teapot is made of speckled buff stoneware clay. The teapot is colored with my Shino gloss glaze, all over. The cover is glazed with a deep brown tenmoku glaze.  The teapot is not meant for stovetop use but for brewing and serving tea or coffee.  I use one of my teapots to brew coffee with a brewing bowl and filter. However, the teapot works well in the microwave. Less than 2 minutes with a full pot works well in our microwave.

The teapot weighs 1 lbs 8 oz without packaging. The teapot holds 17oz or 2 cups and measures 7-1/2 inches across the handle, 4 inches in diameter and 5-1/2 inches high. Hold or remove the cover if it is tipped to get the last drop.
