The tankard is of the style used in the 19th century. It uses stoneware clay and glazes that are of the type used in the US, Canada and Europe.
The tankard is formed on a wheel and is made of a speckled stoneware clay. The glazes used are a glossy tan glaze using rutile and iron for colorants for the inside glaze. The outside glaze is a dark glossy brown like "the little brown jug". The glaze has a lot of iron.
The measures for the tankard are, the diameters 3-1/2 inches at the top and 3-1/2 inches maximum. It is 4-7/8 inches in height. It holds a pint and weighs 1 lb- 1oz without packing.
